Bistro 1847 is the leading brand of vegetarian restaurants in Manchester. The first restaurant opened 18 months ago in the City Centre and the 2nd opened more recently, back in August, in the cosmopolitan suburb of Chorlton, just 10 minutes from the City centre.

We have the position of HEAD CHEF available in one of our restaurants from December 2012. Our Head Chefs oversees a team of 3/4 Chefs, work 5 days a week & run the full kitchen operation. They will have to be experienced to a Sous Chef level or above and have a real passion for Vegetarian & Vegan food, although previous experience from another Vegetarian full dine restaurant would be preferred, this is not essential. If you are Vegan, you would have to handle dairy & free range eggs. Putting together British style menus to fit with our brand would be key to the role. Our dishes use the very best ingredients around and we source locally where possible. We make the majority of our menu from scratch, not from a freezer, so having a good idea of ingredient ordering and prepping is an absolute must.

You would also be required to lead the team, work closely with the Head Chef in the other restaurant, and Head of Beverage & Service who oversees both restaurants, meeting EHO requirements and keeping food costs within budget.

We offer a package of around 27k with a basic salary of 20K, a 2K bonus based on EHO & food costs is paid yearly, tips (appox 3K) plus the opportunity to earn extra money from our monthly gourmet nights that launch from 2013, 28 days annual leave plus other further benefits. You must have previous experience to Sous Chef level to apply for the role, plus live locally (or be willing to move to Manchester) and speak English. Furry Feet Petcare is an established dog walking and pet-sitting business operating across Salford, Trafford and south Manchester & they are looking for a part-time professional dog walker for an immediate start. A part-time position is available to a trustworthy, reliable and dedicated individual for dog walking work in fields and parks across the city. Additional work could also involve cat-sitting and small animal care. The position will require you to register as self-employed. They pay £8 per dog on an hour walk and £6 per dog on a half hour walk. You will walk a maximum of four dogs in any one group. MAIN FUNCTIONS

To deliver a high quality, exciting and innovative Chorlton Arts Festival working alongside the Festival Director - the post-holder will manage all operational aspects of the Festival

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Festival Programme

To manage the operation of the online open submissions process for Chorlton Arts Festival 2012
To manage the contacting and contracting of all Festival participants and artists including detailed negotiation of all requirements, e.g. technical specifications
Responsible for liaising with Festival venues and ensure that any relevant technical requirements are considered for all Festival events
Ensure that selected artists requirements are met including travel arrangements, accommodation, riders and refreshments
To play a full and active role in the Chorlton Arts Festival management committee

Festival Events

To manage the We Got Tickets online Box Office system alongside the Festival Director and ensure that electronic ticket lists are produced on the day of events
To lead on Festival event briefings when required
To manage the Festival hub and ticket office and ensure volunteers are fully trained and briefed

Marketing

To work closely with the Festival Director and other artists in refreshing the Festival website and social media platforms
To lead the online promotional activities of the Festival including twitter, Facebook and the Festival website
To ensure that the Festival brochure is proofed and all information is correctly presented
To co-ordinate the distribution of the Festival brochure with the support of designated volunteer

Volunteers

Manage Festival volunteers and ensure that each Festival event is adequately staffed
To manage the workload of the Festival Intern(s) assigned to this role

Income Generation

To help identify and secure sponsorship and fundraising opportunities in line with the Festival ambitions
To work with the Festival Director to enable sponsorship targets to be met and to ensure that all launches and sponsor contracts are delivered successfully

Administration

To be responsible with the Festival Director, for the generation of post Festival reports and evaluations and the preparation of board reports and documents

General Management

Ensuring that the Festival’s equal opportunities policies are followed and actively practice social inclusion in all aspects of work.
