A Taste of Spring from Bud Garden Centre
Bud Garden Centre (Omer Drive, Burnage) may well be hibernating for the winter, but you can catch them and get a taste of spring on Saturday 21st January at Chorlton Market, opposite the library. They will be selling hyacinths (indoor and out), crocuses, tete a tete daffodils, scillas and miniature irises, in addition to evergreen shrubs such as dogwoods, hellebores and other plants which add interest during the bleaker months.
Christmas Tree Feedback
Bud extend a big thank you to all who purchased their Christmas trees and gifts from them in December. They sourced premium, UK grown Christmas trees and would love some feedback on their performance because Bud want to ensure they supply you with quality trees this year. They welcome all comments, good or bad.
Looking for a particular type of fruit?
Bud is preparing their next order for fruit trees and bushes. If you are looking for a specific variety of fruit, please let them know before 26th January and they will check with their supplier whether they have it in stock. The trees and bushes will then be available when the garden centre re-opens on 2nd March.
Date for your diary - Saturday 3rd March - Seed Swap and Gardening Book Swap
Don't throw unwanted packets of seeds away - instead, swap them at Bud between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 3rd March. They can be freebies you've acquired from magazines, those you have saved yourself, or half empty packets that you no longer need. If you don't have anything to swap, pay £1.00, which will be donated to Thrive - http://thrive.org.uk - and either pick three packets of seeds or a book. Please pass on the swap details to your gardening friends.
